Excursion Hillsborough walking tour tour at Carriacou

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

The historic walking tour provides guests with the opportunity to take a leisurely walk through the town of Hillsborough and learn and experience the quaint charm of the island of Carriacou, guided by a knowledgeable local guide.

Depart the pier and ride a short way to Hillsborough to meet the guide for your walking tour. Learn about Carriacou and how it is filled with history that far pre-dated any European influence, though its earliest written records date back to 1656.

Your one-hour tour features stops at the historic churches, locally owned businesses and the island's museum, which showcases the artifacts from precolonial Carriacou. The Carriacou Museum offers exhibits from the island's Amerindian period (400 BCE to 1400 CE), European Colonialism (1500 to 1800s) and also explores the island's deep African heritage.

Your walking tour is concluded as you make your way over to Wayne's Bar for some relaxing cocktails. Make your way back to the ship.
