Excursion Discover diosso gorge, museum & historical slave market tour at Pointe Noire

Explore the stunning Diosso Gorge, a dramatic natural canyon with breathtaking rock formations and scenic views. The tour includes a visit to the local museum, where you can learn about the region’s history, culture, and geological significance. You will also visit the historic slave market site, gaining insights into the area's past and its role in regional history. After our visit, we return to the port of Pointe-Noire. This half-day excursion offers a blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage, providing a meaningful glimpse into Congo’s rich history and stunning landscapes.

Please note: Republic of Congo is a very-low-income country with very basic infrastructure, and vastly different to the western culture mentality. Local conditions may be challenging; therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and somewhat remote destinations. Coaches, guides, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions. Transfer time each way is approximately 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. A moderate amount of walking over flat uneven surfaces with a few steps to navigate getting on/off the buses. Do not take photos of military buildings, officers in uniform, or people without their permission. Please ask your guide for guidance. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed toes walking shoes, sun protection and insect repellant are recommended. Anticipate high temperatures and humidity and we recommend staying hydrated by bringing your water bottle. Guests are informed that tips to local guides and drivers are at the guest’s discretion.
