Mahahual

Join your guide on Costa Maya's original eco-adventure as you drive along isolated terrain, and on to a white, sand beach. Your bilingual guide escorts you to the vehicle which is shared by 4 other guests. Then follow the lead vehicle in caravan-style through the quiet fishing village of Mahahual. As you drive through the village, your guide explains how this small town has rapidly turned into one of Mexico's most promising cruise ship destinations.

The road surface can be quite rough, so hold onto your hats, as you follow your guide over the jungle road. Along the way, encounter endless stretches of beach with the occasional fishing village and view a side of the Caribbean that not everyone has had a chance to see.

Pleasure Beach

After an hour drive down the coastline, arrive at 'Pleasure Beach'. The white powder sand on this remote beach may be the perfect destination after your drive. During your stay at this beach outpost, enjoy lunch, relax in the clear blue water or stroll down the coastline. Take in the pleasant rays of the Caribbean sun or play a game of beach volleyball. This stop will last approximately one hour.

At the end of your beach stop, re-board your Jeeps for the return drive through the jungle and on to Costa Maya.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate to extensive amount of driving over rough roads that are not paved. The drive may be exceptionally bumpy after periods of rain and is not recommended for guests who may be pregnant, suffer from back or neck problems or those who have respiratory or heart conditions. Jeeps are all equipped with manual transmissions. Drivers must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid driver's license in their possession. All vehicles must remain with the group throughout the tour. We recommend guests wear lightweight, comfortable clothing over their swimsuit, sun protection and bring a towel from the ship. The route is over unpaved surfaces and you may get dirty. A light lunch is provided at the beach. A signed waiver is required to participate.
