Excursion Botanic reserve of the pacific tour at Bahía Solano

Learn about a place of incredible ecological diversity on this two-hour guided walk at the Botanical Gardens. Departing from the ship, the zodiac will cross the Bay of Solano to a natural reserve known as the Botanical Gardens, a 170- acre reserve dedicated to the protection and conservation of the local wildlife through education and recovery.

Upon arrival to the beach, enjoy a fresh coconut milk drink before boarding launches for a short ride through the mangroves to the tropical rain forest. Then take a 2-hour guided walk of this beautiful place.

During the walk, guides describe the amazing variety of flora and fauna and explain the relationship between the indigenous culture and the plant and animal life, showing how trees can be used for communicating and also how fungus is used as medicine. Learn all about one of the most interesting projects at the reserve, the development of a seed bank for a reforestation project.

After 2 hours in the rainforest the walk ends with a gentle stroll along the beach. Enjoy refreshments before re-boarding the zodiacs for the ride back to the ship.

Please note: This tour entails two hours of walking through Mangrove swamps, with exposed and tangled tree roots and moderately steep inclines, making this tour less suitable for individuals with limited mobility and unsuitable for those in a wheelchair. Guests should wear loose, comfortable clothing with long sleeves and hat to protect from the sun, as well as comfortable, high-quality walking shoes or boots.
