Excursion Balinese cooking class tour at Celukan Bawang

Experience a unique opportunity to learn the secrets to preparing Balinese cuisine during this interactive, full-day cooking excursion.

Singaraja and Banyuasri Market

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 75-minute drive to Singaraja, the former capital city of Bali Province during the Dutch occupation of the island. Upon arrival, proceed to the Banyuasri Market. During your guided visit, see abundant tropical fruit, vegetables and spices, and learn about the ingredients to be purchased and utilised for cooking Balinese dishes.

Lovina, Puri Bagus Resort and Cooking Class

Leaving the market, re-board your coach and drive to nearby Lovina, which consists of a string of coastal villages with popular beach resorts and volcanic, black-sand beaches. Upon arrival, proceed to the Puri Bagus Resort - Lovina, meet your chef and begin your interactive Balinese cooking class. Learn about and participate in the process of preparing a wide array of Balinese dishes, including tuna salad, chicken soup, fried rice or noodles, and black rice pudding.

Lunch and Recipes

Your Balinese cooking class is followed by a lunch consisting of the meals you've helped to create. You are also presented with recipes so you can duplicate the dishes in your own kitchen, and rekindle fond memories of your time in Bali. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking for approximately 164 yards (about 150 metres), with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach, four steps at the Banyuasri Market and 30 steps at the Puri Bagus Resort. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes and sun protection are recommended.
