Excursion World’s northernmost brewery tour at Tromsoe

As you make your way through the lively market square, head toward the historic "Mack" Brewery. Founded in 1877 by Ludwig Marucs Mack, a German immigrant’s son, this brewery was established to provide a “healthier alternative” to the hard liquor that was the only alcoholic option in Tromsø at the time. Today, Mack Brewery produces a variety of beers, and you'll have the chance to sample some of them. While the main production now happens outside Tromsø, the original brewery has become a charming microbrewery. Your guide will take you through this historic site, sharing the fascinating story of brewing in Tromsø, with a short film adding context to your experience.

Following the tour, you’ll visit Ølhallen, the oldest pub in Tromsø, where you can sample a selection of local brews. Afterward, your guide will accompany you back to the ship, or you’re welcome to continue exploring Tromsø at your own pace.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking and standing. Dependent to where the ship is docked, a shuttle bus will take the group from the pier to the city center and back at the conclusion of the tour.
