Excursion Vietri sul mare: the ceramic heart of the amalfi coast tour at Salerno

Often referred to as the 'First Pearl of the Amalfi Coast' thanks to its strategic position just west of Salerno, Vietri sul Mare sits at the beginning of this magical stretch of the Campania coastline beloved by travelers from all around the globe. But Vietri is also world-famous for something else – the uniquely colorful majolica ceramics made here and displayed with civic pride on every surface imaginable. The entire town, from its historical monuments to its squares and courtyards, seems a shimmering polychrome mosaic lit by the beauty of these glazed creations.

Scenic drive of approximately 30-minutes to reach Vietri sul Mare. Upon arrival, your guided walking tour begins of the town center and a ceramics store where the origins of the typical ‘Amalfi style’ of production are explained. At the end of your visit, free time for shopping or for just independent exploration. There are hundreds of creative ceramic compositions to admire around town and plenty more shops to visit before returning back to your meeting point.

At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tours requires a moderate amount of walking of approximately 0.75 mi / 1 km of required walking along mostly paved surfaces; the balance of walking is optional during free time.
