Travel in a motor coach through Nuku'alofa, capital town of the Kingdom of Tonga, passing by the red-roofed Royal Palace, where the royal family has lived since 1864. See statues of notable residents and the grave of King George Tupou I, founder of modern-day Tonga, at the famous Royal Tombs.
Upon arrival and tucked-away Vai ko Latai Beach, enjoy about an hour of free time amidst the quiet serenity of a white-sand shoreline. Please note that this tour involves moderate activity with limited walking and some rough and unpaved surfaces. While venues are wheelchair accessible, guests must be able to embark and disembark the vehicle without assistance, and those confined to a wheelchair require advanced notice and a companion to assist. Casual attire is recommended, and guests, who wish to swim should bring bathing suit, towel and a change of clothes from the ship. There are no sun loungers or umbrellas on the beach but natural shade is provided by the trees. There are no shopping stops during the tour, but handicrafts and clothing can be purchased at the wharf on your own. USD is accepted, but credit cards are not. The buses are air-cooled. The buses are not equipped with P.A. systems nor microphones. Some of the roads are unpaved and rutted; the ride maybe bumpy. The restroom facilities may be rustic. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions. The tour sequence may vary.
