Excursion Tea with a monk and art village tour at Busan

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Begin your day at Beomeosa Temple, one of Korea’s most important and beautiful Buddhist temples, set on the forested slopes of Geumjeongsan Mountain. Surrounded by tranquil scenery, the temple offers a peaceful introduction to traditional Korean Buddhism. During your visit, you will participate in a tea ceremony with a monk, a rare cultural encounter that invites mindfulness, introduces Buddhist philosophy, and provides a calm, reflective moment away from the city.

Following your temple experience, enjoy a traditional Korean lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, continue to the vibrant and artistic Gamcheon Cultural Village, famous for its brightly painted houses, steep alleyways, murals, and creative installations. With panoramic views over Busan and countless photo opportunities, this colorful hillside community offers a lively atmosphere and time to explore on foot.

Your final stop is Gukje Market, one of Busan’s largest and most energetic traditional markets. Here, browse a wide range of local products, street food, crafts, and souvenirs while experiencing the lively rhythm of everyday Korean life.

Return to the ship with a deeper appreciation of Busan’s cultural diversity, spiritual heritage, and creative spirit.

Note

Please note: The itinerary may vary for operational reasons. Guests must remove their shoes and wear socks to enter the temple’s main hall, and will be seated on the floor during the tea ceremony. Tea and a small Korean snack are included, but no allergy or special dietary requests can be accommodated. Comfortable shoes, sunglasses, and a light jacket are advised. The tour includes approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) of walking on uneven surfaces, steps, and inclines—particularly at Beomeosa Temple and Gamcheon Cultural Village—with about 70 steps in total and extended periods of standing and walking at Gukje International Market.
