Excursion Laguna esmeralda trekking (extensive) tour at Ushuaia

Departing from the pier, you will head north of Ushuaia to the area of Valleys and the Andes Mountain Range. You will arrive to the beginning of the trail where the bus will leave you with your experienced guide. The first part of the trekking is inside the forest and will allow you to appreciate incredible views of the Tierra Mayor & Carvajal Valleys. The rest of the trail will guide you through lengas forests, mountains, hanging glaciers and swamps. You will also be able to appreciate the flora and fauna around the area, especially the wide variety of birds that overfly the area. Once you reach Laguna Esmeralda (Emerald Lagoon) you will understand why the name as the color of its water speaks for itself. The lagoon is surrounded by the Albino Glacier, the “Torres” and the “Cordon Toribio”, and in this scenario you will enjoy your boxed lunch. After lunch the return walk begins.

Please note: An extensive amount of walking for 4 hours and approximately 9 km (5.6 miles) at a consistent pace over uneven and elevated terrain and a few steps at the park and to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is recommended for guests in good physical condition. Guests must be able to hike up inclines for a prolonged period of time, with few breaks. Due to the type of terrain, guests must remain with the group, no independent explorations are allowed without an authorized licensed guide. This experience takes place in a Natural Reservoir environment, guests are requested to respect local flora & fauna according to the local laws and regulations. Dress warmly in layers, with sturdy, waterproof hiking boots or trekking shoes, and bring sun protection and a weatherproof jacket. Weather can be unpredictable.
