Upon arrival, take a guided tour of Fort Bulnes, a National Monument and the first Chilean settlement on the Strait of Magellan. Bulnes was founded in 1843 by 22 adventurers who took possession of the Strait of Magellan on behalf of the Chilean government. They named the area after Manuel Bulnes, president of the young Republic of Chile, and originally built the fort to protect Southern Chile and the Strait of Magellan from claims by other countries. Sites to be seen during your tour include the church, chaplain's quarters, jail, powder magazine, post office, and stables.

Next, take a guided hike from Fort Bulnes to the Visitor’s Centre of Magellan’s Strait Park. Along the way, your panoramic hike passes through the native forest and along the coastal shores of the legendary Strait of Magellan, with breath-taking panoramic vistas at every turn. Upon arrival at the Visitor’s Centre, enjoy the local drink, a calafate sour, and snacks, along with exquisite views of the Strait of Magellan and nearby bays. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately one-hour drive back to the pier.
