Depart from the pier and travel for 50 minutes by coach to reach the stunning Hawkesbury River region, where Sydney Oyster Farm welcomes you to its working waterfront. After arrival, enjoy a brief walk to the vessel before embarking on a short boat ride across the scenic waterways toward the oyster leases.

Sydney Oyster Farm, In-Water Oyster Experience

Upon reaching the farms, your oyster experience begins with an introduction to the cultivation process, guided by the farmers who work these pristine waters daily. Slip into the provided waders and step directly into the water, where the tidal environment becomes your tasting room. Learn to open oysters like a professional and savour 18 freshly harvested oysters, shucked before your eyes and enjoyed at your private in-water table. This hour-long immersion offers an unforgettable blend of education, scenery, and flavour. After your tasting, board the boat once more for a short cruise to the next point, followed by an additional 15-minute ride back toward Parsley Bay.

Your tour concludes with a 50-minute coach transfer returning you to the pier, enriched with a deeper appreciation for Sydney’s coastal traditions.

Please Note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking, but guests must be able to board the boat unaided, stand for approximately one hour at the in-water tables, and comfortably wade through uneven underwater surfaces; it is not wheelchair accessible, and those with limited mobility may participate only if they can meet these requirements; there are no toilets on the boats, and the experience is tide-dependent and may be influenced by weather conditions or holiday surcharges; waders are provided, and guests are advised to wear long pants, socks, sunglasses, and a sunhat; dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated for those with seafood or shellfish allergies; photography and video are permitted with guidance from the tour staff; a glass of bubbly is included with the oyster tasting, and all transfers are by coach and boat as described.
