En route, cross over the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and Marina Bay, and marvel at the breath-taking panoramic views of modern Singapore’s spectacular city skyline. Your drive continues into the suburbs, passing middle-income residential areas and the quaint shop houses of Katong. Along the way, see painstakingly restored Peranakan, or Chinese-Malay, homes decorated with distinctive, pastel-coloured floral designs. The highlight of your tour is a visit to the Katong Antique House, a uniquely-captivating and colourful Peranakan museum centred around the Chinese-Malay culture.

The Katong Antique House offers an intimate, first-hand look at the history of Singapore’s Chinese immigrants, along with unique aspects of their life and influence on Singapore. Upon arrival, you are welcomed by the curator/owner, who escorts you on a journey into the Chinese-Malay Peranakan culture, embellished with breath-taking details and colourful anecdotes.

Every room and corner at the Katong Antique House are filled with traditional Peranakan items. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.
