Excursion Windsor castle tour at London
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Discover the world's largest and oldest occupied Castle with a visit to Windsor Castle, home to British kings and queens for over 900 years.
Enjoy a self-guided visit of the State Apartments with a personal audio-guide. See the extensive suites and other rooms that form the heart of this working palace. The magnificent chambers are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Canaletto and Gainsborough.
Within the castle grounds lies St George's Chapel, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England. St George's Chapel is not only the burial place of 10 monarchs including Henry VIII and Charles I but has also been the venue of many royal weddings, most recently HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May 2018.
On leaving Windsor Castle enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and, time permitting, some free time in Windsor before returning to central London.
