Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 45-minute drive to the beautiful Chelsea Physic Garden. Tucked away beside the River Thames, this special garden is the second-oldest botanical garden in the country. Founded by the Worshipful Society of the Apothecaries in 1673 to study plants for their use in medicine, the Chelsea Physics Garden is home to a uniquely diverse collection of approximately 5,000 plants.

Upon arrival, take a guided walking tour of the Chelsea Physic Garden. The early curators of the Chelsea Physic Garden had contacts with their counterparts around the world. As a result, the garden is home to many plants rarely seen anywhere else in the country. During your tour, learn about the uses of these plants, not only in medicine but in everyday life, as well as poisonous plants and their uses. Following your guided tour, proceed for refreshments at the Garden Café, followed by some free time for independent exploration. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 45-mnute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking and standing for approximately one mile (about 1.6 kilometres), at times over uneven, gravel and slippery surfaces. Walking at the Chelsea Physic Garden is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection and a sweater or light jacket from the ship. The tour sequence may vary.
