Explore the Medieval past along the Spanish-Portuguese border during this half-day excursion to the Fortress Cathedral of Tui and get a taste of local wine.

Cathedral of Tui

Depart the pier for the approximate 30-minute drive to the beautiful walled Medieval city of Tui, located on a hill next to the Portuguese border near the River Miño. Upon arrival, visit the imposing Cathedral. Built in the 12th century, the Cathedral was later converted into a fortress studded with battlements due to frequent invasions. Its tower forms a magnificent balcony over the River Miño, and offers a scenic view of the fortified Portuguese city of Valensa on the other side.


Wine Tasting at Parador de Tui

Following the visit, a brief drive will take you to the wonderful Parador de Tui, for a chance to taste the local wine with some snacks.


Your tour will conclude with an approximately 30-minute drive back to the port of Vigo.

Please note: This tour requires a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.6 miles (about one kilometre), with cobblestones, inclines and a few steps at the sites. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility, and is not wheelchair-accessible. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, flat, closed-toe walking shoes are recommended. Guests must be at least 18 years old to participate in the wine tasting.
