Excursion Taha land and sea exploration: vanilla and black pearls tour at Tahaa

Meet on the ship to take a short boat transfer to the Faaaha pier in Tahaa.

Taha’a, Viewpoint, Vanilla Plantation

Upon arrival on Tahaa, board a 4-wheel-drive vehicle and head to the valleys and mountains of the island. Your guide will point out sights along the way. You'll stop at a beautiful viewpoint and learn the traditional uses of local plants and trees. Sample various local fruits and learn tamure -- typical Tahitian dancing. The island of Tahaa is often called ‘the Vanilla Island’ and you will learn about this fragrant spice while visiting a small family-owned vanilla plantation.

Black Pearl Farm

You will also visit a black pearl farm and discover how these treasures of the sea are raised and harvested. These small cottage industries are part of this small island’s economic structure.

The tour ends at the Faaaha pier, where you will take the short boat transfer back to the ship.

Please note: This tour involves a minimal amount of walking and is suitable for guests with limited mobility, as long as they can negotiate the steps on and off the boat and on and off the Jeep. The tour departs and ends at the ship, as guests are required to take dedicated boats to join this excursion.
