Port Elizabeth, Sibuya Private Game Reserve, Navigable Rivers, Abundant Wildlife & Bird Species
Depart the pier with your guide for the scenic, approximately 1.5-hour drive to the Sibuya Private Game Reserve. One of South Africa's most unique safari destinations, Sibuya has more navigable rivers than any other game reserve in South Africa. As a result, it is home to nearly 400 different bird species and one of the most renowned birding destinations in the region. This breathtakingly beautiful game reserve is also a sanctuary to an abundance of diverse wildlife, from elephants to otters and almost everything in between, including the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes).
Varied Terrain & Vegetation, River-Plains, Lower Albany Thicket, Cape Fynbos, Grassy Plateau
Sibuya offers accommodation in two private and exclusive, luxury-tented game lodges, and prides itself on superb cuisine. Thought to be amongst South Africa's most beautiful private game reserves, Sibuya spans more than 7,413 acres (about 3,000 hectares) of varied terrain and vegetation. From the moderately-open river plains and through the pristine Lower Albany thicket, there are also patches of Cape fynbos and a windswept, grassy plateau favoured by many of the larger grazing animals. Sibuya supports one of the highest densities of wildlife in South Africa, ensuring an intensive and varied game-viewing experience amidst spectacular natural surrounds.
Kenton-on-Sea, Reception Area, Riverboat Transfer, Game Drive, Forest Camp, Day Centre, Lunch
Sibuya's reception area is located in the holiday village of Kenton-on-Sea, in the eastern Cape Province.
