Excursion S.a.l.t. modern estonian cuisine tour at Tallinn

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Embrace the culture and flavours of Estonia during this memorable, half-day culinary experience.

Local Market

Depart the pier for the short drive to the local market/store, and meet the renowned Estonian chef Stella Kurik. Together, browse the market to locate the freshest ingredients for your meal, then proceed to the chef's workshop set at the Estonian Open Air Museum.

Cooking Lesson and Lunch

Upon arrival, spend the next three hours preparing a three-course meal consisting of Estonian specialities that combines traditional and modern cooking methods. Along the way, learn about the Estonian food culture, local history of cooking, and new food preparation skills and knowledge. The cosy atmosphere and professional culinary team make you forget that you are actually in the middle of the modern city centre. Following your cooking lesson, you are served the meal you have helped to prepare. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board the coach for the short drive back to the pier.

Chef Stella Kulik

Stella Kurik began her culinary career in the Netherlands, where she pursued her culinary studies and went on to work at a MICHELIN-starred restaurant in Amsterdam. She later returned to Estonia, gaining valuable experience in some of Tallinn’s top dining establishments, including Mon Repos, 180° (MICHELIN-starred), and Fotografiska. Stella is passionate about sustainability and has actively contributed to numerous initiatives in this space. Her dedication led her to Copenhagen, where she completed the MAD Academy course “Leadership and Sustainability in Hospitality.” She has also competed in Estonia’s Chef of the Year competitions and has been a proud member of the Estonian Chefs Association since 2019. Her culinary style is rooted in Estonian and Nordic traditions, with a strong focus on local and sustainable ingredients — values that resonate deeply with the SALT tour’s philosophy.
