Bodø, Veten and Keiservarden Mountains

Depart the pier for the short drive in direction of Mount Keiservarden, the summit of Mount Veten and a favourite among Bodø hikers. Upon arrival at the Rønvikfjellet Viewpoint, begin your guided hike along a natural path to Mount Keiservaden. The path is fairly easy, and the hike takes approximately one hour in each direction. Your route follows the natural contours of the landscape, with rocks, creeks, bogs and more.

Mount Keiservarden Summit and Rønvikfjellet Viewpoint

Located approximately 1,200 feet (about 366 metres) above sea level, Keiservaden rewards visitors with a truly amazing, 360-degree panorama over the ocean, city and mountain peaks. On really clear days, you can even see Lofoten far away in the distance. Mount Keiservarden is named after the German Emperor Wilhelm, who hiked to the summit during a visit in 1899. In addition, annual concerts are held here during the summer months. Following your visit to Mount Keiservarden, begin the return hike back to the Rønvikfjellet Viewpoint, then re-board your coach and commence the short drive back to the pier.
