Excursion Lincoln national park september beach hike (moderate) tour at Port Lincoln

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

On route to Cape Donnington you will pass open areas which were cleared when the area was farmed as a cereal crop and grazing property, also some of the old machinery used during this period and the Donnington Cottage which was the farmhouse and has now been restored by the National Park as holiday rental.

The loop walk will take you to September Beach, one of the many popular camp areas in the National Park. Along the way you will experience rocky granite and dolerite outcrops dating back 1852 million years. As you meander through the coastal Mallee scrub following close to the coast, you may get a glimpse of some dolphins, numerous coastal and inland birds as well as some of the wildlife including kangaroos, emus and reptiles.

At September Beach campground the trail takes you along this beautiful white sandy protected beach before trending back inland to the main Cape Donnington access road - taking us to Engine Beach for another beach walk then past Donnington Cottage built in 1899 by Lighthouse Keeper and farmer William Argent.
