Savour the splendid beauty and flavours of La Laguna during a memorable, half-day excursion to this picturesque World Heritage Site.


Monje Winery

Depart the pier towards El Sauzal to get to the famous Bodegas Monje, with its views of El Teide, sits proudly in the rolling countryside of La Hollera, overlooking the municipality of El Sauzal in the north of Tenerife. Since 1750, the Monje family have been producing wine and now, the fifth generation are at the helm. Oak barrels and modern maceration systems coexist creating the special character and flavour of the Monje red, white and rosé wines, making them an essential accompaniment to Canarian cuisine.


La Laguna

Continue with a brief drive to La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. La Laguna is located in the centre of the Aguerre Valley at an altitude of 1,600 feet (487 metres) above sea level, and just a few miles from the capital. Centuries ago, La Laguna was the capital of the island. Its straight streets, large squares and grand monuments are best-explored on-foot.


Scenic Walking Tour

Upon arrival, leave your coach and walk to the Church of the Convent of Santa Catalina, the popular market in the Plaza del Adelantado, the Cathedral, and along the Calle de San Agustin, which features rows of beautiful balconies and old convents. View the façade of the Episcopal Palace and visit the History Museum in the Lercaro Palace, then return to the coach and continue on to Tacoronte, the most important wine-growing area on the island.


El Lomo Winery

Next stop will be El Lomo winery, founded in 1989 and produces more than 66,000 gallons (250.000 litres) in a year. The unevenness of the terrain will highlight how hard it is to plant vineyards in this area, before we leave you can taste a wine from this area accompanied by a sort of tapas.


Following your visit, commence the return drive to the pier.
