Excursion Ghosts & gravestones tour tour at Boston

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

This half day tour delves into Boston’s darker past on a costumed “frightseeing®” experience aboard the Trolley of the Doomed.

Old State House

Meet at the pier and take a short 5-minute walk to board your trolley-style vehicle, led by a costumed “gravedigger” guide who sets the tone for Boston’s shadowy side.  Roll through the historic core, hearing spine-tingling stories as you drive past landmarks like the Old State House and the site associated with the Boston Strangler/Mary Sullivan case.

Guided Walks, Copp’s Hill, Granary

Disembark for guided walks through two 17th-century burial grounds—typically Copp’s Hill and Granary (or King’s Chapel)—where you’ll navigate uneven paths among timeworn headstones while your guide weaves together accounts of paranormal activity and the city’s darker history. Expect multiple walking segments that together total about 0.5 miles and include stairs and hills.

At tour’s end, you may choose an optional drop-off at Quincy Market to continue exploring on your own or remain on the trolley for the return to the pier.
