Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the Dumbea River. Upon arrival, receive your safety and kayaking instructions and gear, embark your single-seat or two-seat kayak, and begin your guided kayaking adventure.

Along the way, the tranquillity of the river setting is only disrupted by the swish of paddles on a journey through one of the prettiest valleys in New Caledonia. Some free time is allocated for a swim before turning back downstream. At the conclusion of your kayaking journey, disembark the kayak, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of paddling for approximately 1.75 hours and a minimal amount of walking for approximately 55 yards (about 50 metres), at times over uneven, sandy and natural ground, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and embark/disembark the kayak. This tour is recommended for active guests who are in good physical condition, and can swim well in water over their head. This tour is not suitable for pregnant guests, guests with back and/or neck problems, guests with heart and/or respiratory problems, guests prone to seasickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up with flat, and bring sun protection, a towel, bottled water, and change of clothing from the ship. Please note that it is mandatory to bring closed-toe shoes or sneakers you won't mind getting wet. There are no changing facilities at the Dumbea River. The kayaks utilised on this tour are self-bailing; therefore, you may find some water pooling at the bottom as you paddle along. Guests must be at least eight years old to participate on this tour. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife and marine life sightings are not guaranteed. Operation of this tour is subject to weather conditions. A basic rain jacket, life vest, helmet, kayak, paddles, and dry bags for each guest's personal items are provided.
