Pyramids of Guimar
In the southeast of Tenerife, find the Pyramids of Güímar Ethnographic Park. The site has been built around the six stepped pyramids found in the region, each about four meters high and whose origins are not totally clear. They are believed to have been erected around   5 000 to 7 000 years ago and were used for religious rites and astronomical observations.

The museum allows visitors to learn about other pyramids around the world and the ancient civilizations that built them. The boats used by these ancient cultures also have their space in the museum, thanks largely to the fact that the main figure behind this museum was the explorer Thor Heyerdahl, known for his maritime expeditions.

Poisonous Garden
As part of the complex you will visit next the Poisonous Garden, a curious place that houses some of the most dangerous plants in the world and meet more than 70 species that have some type of poison. You won’t believe some of these plants are easily found on one's daily life.

Basilica of Our Lady of Candelaria
Afterwards, travel to the town of La Candelaria, and visit Basilica of Our Lady of Candelaria to learn about the history of this temple next to the sea and get to see la morenita the famous image of the virgin. Before returning, make a stop in front of the doors of the basilica to see the 9 Menceyes the sculptures that represent the leaders of the tribes that lived on the islands before the arrival of the Spanish.
