Excursion Bilro's lace embroidery experience tour at Natal

Panoramic drive through the area of Ribeira - the oldest part of town. Keep an eye out for the Governor's Palace, mayor's office and the old cathedral. Heading away from downtown, you'll pass on the modern area of the city until you reach Ponta Negra beach, where you can view of Morro do Careca, the city's most famous symbol.You will learn about the culture of a fishing village, where lace has become the main activity of the region's matriarchs.
From the beach, you'll return to the old 16th-century Portuguese Fort Reis Magos, which marks the foundation of the city of Natal. Next stop will be in the Tourism Center, where you will have the chance to explore all kinds of Northeast Brazilian handcraft and see more about the Bilro´s technic, an activity that requires extreme skill and concentration. The bobbin lace is one of the main patrimonies of Natal.

Please note: A moderate amount of walking for approximately 1 km (0.6 miles). At times over uneven and cobblestone surface, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. There is a a steep climb to the Tourist center, making this tour not recommended for guests with limited mobility. Lightweight, comfortable clothing, walking shoes and sun protection is recommended.
