Following a short motor coach ride to scenic Auke Bay, you will board a high-speed expedition vessel custom designed for wildlife viewing. As whales are sighted, your skilled captain will gently maneuver the vessel to allow exceptional viewing and photographic opportunities. You will be amazed by the gracefulness of these ocean giants as they slowly arc their massive tail flukes into the air. Bring a warm jacket to wear on the observation deck; the whales are often close enough to hear them breathe. An onboard naturalist will explain the behavior and habitat of the humpback whale and other wildlife you may encounter, including orcas, sea lions, porpoises, harbor seals, bald eagles, and more. Please note: This tour requires a minimal amount of walking, approximately 250 yards (228 meters). It is suitable for guests with limited mobility; however, there is a raised threshold that those utilizing a wheelchair would need to cross. Scooters are not permitted. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. On board souvenir shop available and accepts USD cash and credit cards. Menu may change based on seasonal availability. The selection of appetizers and desserts include vegetarian and gluten-free options. Hot food is available for the first hour and a half of the cruise. Cold food is available for the entire duration of the cruise or until items run out. Guaranteed whale sightings June-August due to migratory patterns. Whale sightings on surrounding dates continue to have 99% success rate. Guests that require a lift vehicle must notify the Shore Concierge Desk upon embarking the vessel.
