Excursion Terceira’s volcanic landscapes tour at Praia da Vitória

Depart the pier and journey into the volcanic interior of Terceira Island, where dramatic landscapes and geothermal features showcase the island’s volcanic origins.
Travel through the Guilherme Moniz Caldeira, one of the largest volcanic calderas in the Azores, while admiring the island’s scenic countryside and volcanic terrain.
Your first stop is Furnas do Enxofre, a geothermal area known for its sulfur fumaroles, steam vents and volcanic activity. Walk through this unique landscape while observing the geothermal phenomena that continue to shape the island.
Continue toward the area of Mistérios Negros, formed by volcanic eruptions approximately 300 years ago. Along the route, admire the striking black lava fields and rugged volcanic scenery that characterize this part of Terceira.
Proceed to Biscoitos Natural Swimming Pools, where volcanic lava formations have created natural pools along the coastline. The area is also known for its traditional vineyard landscapes protected by black lava stone walls.
Before returning to the ship, stop at Serra do Cume viewpoint for panoramic views over Terceira’s patchwork countryside and the impressive Caldeira of Cinco Picos.
