Tairyuji Temple by Ropeway
Depart the pier with an hour drive to the ropeway station and board for a round-trip ride to Tairyuji Temple, known as the “Koyasan of Shikoku.” The ascent provides magnificent mountain views before you arrive at the serene, forested temple complex. Stroll through ancient halls and ritual spaces connected to the life of Kobo Daishi.
Tatsueji Temple
Continue to Tatsueji Temple, a peaceful complex famous for its pagoda and its folklore, including the story of a young woman’s act of repentance memorialized on the grounds. Explore the temple pathways, observe pilgrims at prayer, and absorb the quiet reverence present throughout this historic site. Conclude your tour with a short drive back to pier.
