Jeddah, Medina, Dar Al Madinah Museum, Collections, Visual Galleries, Artefacts
Depart the pier to the train station where you will begin an approximately two-hour ride to Medinah (Medina). The second-holiest city in the Arab world after Makkah (Mecca). Medina is home to the Al-Masjid An-Nabawi (Prophet's Mosque), the second-most important site of Islamic pilgrimage. Upon arrival in Medina, your first stop is at the Prophet's Mosque Expansion Project Museum. Discover the city's heritage and history during a guided walking tour. Along the way, view collections, visual galleries, and some rare cultural artefacts. The most important part of the museum shows the evolution of the Prophet's Mosque from a house into the huge complex it is today.
Prophet's Mosque, Hotels, Shoppes, Market Visit, Local Farm, Lunch
Next, head to the Prophet's Mosque, with its amazing massive architecture and beautifully arranged lights. The Prophet's Mosque is built where the Islamic Prophet Muhammad used to live and is currently buried. Surrounding the mosque are countless hotels built to accommodate all of the worshippers visiting the city, in addition to restaurants and shoppes selling dates, traditional prayer garbs, Islamic clothing, food items, and more. Many businesses remain open throughout the day and evening, making Medina a city that virtually never sleeps. Following an exterior photo stop at the Prophet's Mosque and visit to a local market, proceed for lunch at a local farm. After lunch, re-board your coach and continue on to view Uhud Mountain.
Drive by Uhud Mountain, Quba Mosque, Souk, Free Time, Shopping
Uhud Mountain is a major pilgrimage site and the location where Muslim forces, led by the Prophet Muhammad, battled troops from Mecca. The mountain rises about 3,533 feet (1,077 meters) and can be climbed to better observe the battlefield. Next, take an exterior view of the Quba Mosque. The world's oldest mosque, its foundation stone was laid by the Prophet Muhammad during his journey from Mecca to Medina in 622 A.D. Worshippers have gathered here ever since, though the current building is a more recent construction. Some free time is made available at the nearby souk to browse the stalls selling dates, perfumes, spices, and more. Your tour concludes with a train ride back to the station and transfer to the pier.

Note
Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 1.86 miles-2.5 miles (about three kilometres-four kilometres), at times over uneven, cobblestone, and natural surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, bottled water, and Saudi Arabian Riyals or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Please dress conservatively when going ashore; ladies always need to wear abaya, which are provided, and keep their knees covered. Proper attire is required to enter holy or religious sites; shorts and bare shoulders are not permitted. As a rule, women should never wear anything remotely revealing (miniskirts, shorts, capris, beachwear, and sleeveless or low-cut tops), and men should always wear shirts and trousers in public. Infrastructure in Jeddah may be basic, and local conditions may be challenging; coaches, guides, hotels, restaurants, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found at other ports. Therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique, less touristic destinations; vehicles and guides are brought in from the whole region. Local authorities might check again your passport, as well as the border number you received at the entrance in the country during the excursion; this might require some waiting time. The tour sequence may vary.
