Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Experience the wild side of Bonaire in a fun-filled new way during this scenic and exciting island buggy and caving excursion.
Kralendijk, Off-Road, Island Buggy-Ride to the East Coast
After meeting your guide at the pier, a pre-ride fitness check, and completing your waiver, depart the pier for the short drive to the Utility Task Vehicle (UTV) starting location just outside of town. Upon arrival, receive your safety and riding instructions, then don your safety helmet, board your UTV (island buggy), and begin your scenic and exciting, off-road adventure. Led by your experienced guides, leave the paved road behind and head to the east coast of Bonaire.
Bolivia, Wildlife, Spelonk Lighthouse, Ocean/Coastal Views & Waves, Limestone Rocks, Giant Cacti
En route, experience the rugged terrain and pristine natural splendour of Bolivia, a former plantation, and look for wild donkeys, goats, and iguanas. Your first stop is at the Spelonk Lighthouse, the easternmost point of Bonaire. From this location, marvel at the spectacular panoramic vistas over the ocean and unspoiled east coast. After a photo stop here, re-board your UTV and drive along the ‘wild’ east coast between limestone rocks and giant cacti, whilst ocean waves crash and spray the coastline.
Cave Tour, Stalactites, Stalagmites, Ancient Rock Paintings
Next, your adventure continues with a visit to one of Bonaire’s many caves, which are home to the Bonairean bat species. Your tour guide leads you into the cave, between the beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, and explains various rock paintings the Arawak Indians left behind. Following your cave tour, re-board your island buggy and proceed for the approximately 35-minute, off-road ride back to the UTV starting location. Upon arrival, re-board your open air island style bus and commence the short drive back to the pier.
