Excursion Milos island tour tour at Milo

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

A hidden gem of the Aegean, Milos captivates with its raw volcanic beauty, ancient heritage, and timeless island charm. From lunar landscapes to legendary statues, this half-day exploration offers a curated glimpse into Milos’ natural wonders and cultural soul.

Sarakiniko – The Moon on Earth

Departing the port of Adamas, a 15-minute scenic drive transports you to Sarakiniko — Milos’ most iconic and otherworldly coastline. Here, wind and wave have sculpted white volcanic rock into a dreamscape of surreal forms and bleached ridges. With enough time to explore on foot (approx. 400 m walking), feel free to photograph its shimmering surfaces, walk along its narrow paths, or simply marvel at the Aegean’s turquoise contrast against chalk-white stone.

Plaka – The Soul of the Island

Next, a short 15-minute drive brings you to Plaka, the charming hilltop capital of Milos. Here, stroll through its labyrinth of cobbled lanes and admire the island’s quintessential Cycladic architecture — all crisp white façades, blue shutters, and flowering balconies. Discover tiny hidden chapels, browse artisan boutiques, or soak in panoramic views from the terrace of Korfiatissa Church overlooking Adamas Bay.

Ancient City of Milos – Echoes of the Past

Leaving Plaka behind, enjoy a brief 15-minute to a site of historical reverence: the Ancient City of Milos. It was here, over 200 years ago, that the famed Venus de Milo was unearthed — her enigmatic beauty now enshrined in the Louvre. Amid the ruins of Doric walls and scattered stones, you’ll pause for a short photo stop and guided commentary. Though compact, the site offers a powerful connection to the island’s classical past.

Your journey concludes with a relaxing 15-minute return drive to the port of Adamas, where your Silversea vessel awaits.
