Leave the village following a walking trail into the State Park of Ilha Grande, where you may admire the beauty amid the Atlantic Forest. Pass through the ruins of the old leprosarium which later became a political prison, the Aqueduct that reflects the periods of Brazil’s past from the Indians and buccaneers to the emperor Dom Pedro II and the cycles of coffee and sugar cane farms.
Make a stop at Black Beach, where those who wish may take quick swim or in the natural pools of the aqueduct. Your walk will continue as you walk to the viewpoint for photos before returning with your guide to the village.
