Excursion Exploring the trails: hike to lake botnsvatn tour at Húsavík

Start the journey walking towards the small but charming botanical garden Skrúðgarður, then follow a footpath uphill, towards Lake Botnsvatn. Following this trail, we walk alongside the river Búðará that flows from the lake down towards the botanical garden, through town and into the Atlantic Ocean at Skjálfandi Bay. Enjoy the views for a bit before heading back down, and back to the ship.

Please note: distance walked during the tour is approx. 11km, elevation gain is 130 meters. Good physical condition is required. It is essential to wear comfortable clothing for walking, weather/rainproof clothing and good, walking/hiking closed toe, non-slip sole footwear. Guests may bring insect repellent for the hike.
