Excursion Douro river cruise & port wine tasting tour at Oporto

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

Drive through the city and see some of the city's most impressive buildings. Oporto, as it appears today, dates mainly from the 18th century when trade was booming. Merchants built fine houses and financed grand buildings for their city.

Following a city orientation, head down to the Ribeira Quarter to enjoy approximately one hour scenic boat ride on the Douro River. On the opposite bank you visit Vila Nova de Gaia, home to the port trade and numerous Wine lodges. Visit one of the lodges and learn about the process of wine making before tasting a selection of these fine wines.

Note

Please note: Order of sites visited may vary. This tour includes a moderate amount of walking (10 to 15 minutes in each direction to and from the pier) over uneven cobblestone surfaces as well as a steep river boat ramp, and is therefore less suitable for guests with limited mobility. Comfortable clothing and walking shoes are recommended. The driving distance from the pier to the city of Porto is approximately 30 to 45 minutes in each direction.
