You will have the chance to discover a unique place, located 78 kms north of Punta Arenas, where you can see the majestic Andean Condor (Vultur Gryphus) in an accessible and protected environment and have the chance of photograph the largest flying bird in the world. This Condor colony in Chilean Patagonia, hosts the largest colony of this bird registered in the entire Andes Mountain range, from Venezuela to Patagonia.
Upon arrival at the estancia, a short briefing will introduce the most important aspects of the condor, before continuing to the slopes of Cerro Palomares. The condor specialist researchers will show visitors the condors, using a powerful telescope, and professional binoculars. A short walk, of 600 meters approximately on flat terrain until below the rock wall of the hill, which serves as a roost for the condors. There are opportunities to take "trophy photos" through the telescope using your smart phones, and standard format cameras.

Please note: There is a 90-minute scenic driving to/from Cerro Palomares. A moderate amount of walking and standing for 1.5 km (0.93 miles) over gravel and grass terrain, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. Weather is unpredictable in this region and windy, rainy weather can be expected. Dress in layers with sturdy, closed-toe, waterproof shoes/boots, and bring sun protection and a weatherproof jacket, hat, and scarf. Although frequently encountered on this type of tour, wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.
