Depart Rosendal and drive to the Bondhus Glacier Lake. Upon arrival, meet your Expedition Team and commence your walk to Bondhus Lake along the historic path constructed in 1822 for the transportation of ice from Folgefonna, aptly named the 'ice road'. As you arrive at Bondhus Lake, be captivated by the majestic vista of the fjords, glacier, waterfalls, and the serene lake - a sight unparalleled in its grandeur. The glacier’s meltwater feeds into the lake, giving it crystal-clear turquoise-blue waters, offering a picturesque setting that attracts photographers, hikers and nature enthusiasts alike. Please note: Walking in Bondhus Glacier Lake is at guests' discretion. We will offer a continuous shuttle bus service from the pier to the Bondhus Glacier Lake trailhead throughout the day, departing every hour on the hour from the pier & trailhead. The walk to the lake covers approximately 3.7 miles (6 kilometers) with an elevation gain of 210 meters and is on a dirt/gravel trail with gradual inclines. It is considered easy for the average person. Our Expedition Team will be there to provide guidance. Visibility of sights may be affected in adverse weather conditions. We recommended guests to dress in layered clothing, wear proper hiking shoes/boots and bring water and credit cards with them.
