Difficulty:

Battle Harbour is a historic fishing and trading community nestled along the rugged Labrador Coast. Once a vital hub for the cod fishery and fur trade, it offers a unique glimpse into Labrador’s maritime history and Inuit culture. Surrounded by dramatic coastal scenery, rocky shores, and boreal forests, the area is rich in wildlife, including seabirds, whales, and marine mammals. Visitors can explore historic buildings, walk along scenic trails, and learn about the region’s traditional subsistence lifestyle. Battle Harbour provides an authentic Arctic coastal experience, blending history, culture, and stunning natural beauty.

Note

Please note: A moderate amount of walking to fully-explore the community, however walking in Battle Harbour is at the discretion of each guest. Local infrastructure is basic, and local road conditions are unpredictable, note that roads in Battle Harbour are only partly paved, mostly on flat terrain. Guides, equipment, and services are the best-available but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and somewhat remote destinations. Dress in layers with sturdy, closed toe walking shoes/boots, and bring sun protection, insect repellent, weatherproof jacket, hat, and scarf.
