Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 75-minute drive to the village of Getaria. Located on the coast of Guipuzcoa, Getaria is renowned as the hometown of Juan Sebastian Elcano, the first seaman to sail around the world, as well as other notable seamen. The wineries in Getaria specialise in Txacoli wine, or Getariako Txacolina, which is only produced in this and surrounding villages.

Upon arrival in Getaria, head for a tour of a local winery and cellar. Along the way, learn about the history and production of Getariako Txacolina wine. The main production at this vineyard is white wine, but this winery also produces a limited production of red grapes, which are used to produce rosé wine. Following your tour, proceed for a tasting of three different white wines accompanied by local specialities that include anchovies, tuna fish, cheese and sweet treats. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 75-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves a moderate amount of walking for approximately 0.6 miles (about one kilometre), at times over uneven, cobblestone and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the wine cellar.
