Excursion Seoul highlights by ktx train tour at Busan
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Get ready to travel at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour (218 mph) on this trip to Seoul on a KTX Train, arriving to Seoul from Busan by only 2 hours 40 mins. Explore the most famous Gyeongbokgung palace and enjoy the chance to observe a Changing Ceremony of the Royal Guards, and also the beautiful and traditional Bukchon & Insadong districts. Finish your journey at the N-seoul Tower where you can look down the whole view of Seoul and having a wonderful dinner at the restaurant located in Seoul Tower.
Begin at Gyeongbokgung Palace, built in 1395. This palace is commonly referred to as the Northern Palace because its location is furthest north when compared to the neighboring palaces of Changdeokgung (Eastern Palace) and Gyeonghuigung (Western Palace) Palace. Gyeongbokgung Palace is arguably the most beautiful, and remains the largest of all five palaces. The premises were once destroyed by fire during the Imjin War (Japanese Invasions, 1592-1598). However, all of the palace buildings were later restored under the leadership of Heungseondaewongun during the reign of King Gojong (1852-1919).
Next transfer 10 minutes to the Bukchon Hanok Village, which is surrounded by Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace and Jongmyo Shrine. Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional houses, called hanok, that date back to the Joseon Dynasty. The name Bukchon, which literally translates to "northern village," came about as the neighborhood lies north of two significant Seoul landmarks, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. Today, many of these hanoks operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience, learn and immerse themselves in traditional Korean culture.
Finally, visit Insa-dong, located in the heart of the city, which is an important place where old but precious and traditional goods are on display. There is one main road in Insa-dong with alleys on each side. Within these alleys are galleries and traditional restaurants, teahouses, and cafes.
Return to the ship via your KTX return train.
