Your S.A.L.T. Program tour begins with a scenic, approximately 1.75-hour coastal drive to Hoi An. En route, pass by the marble mountains in Da Nang City, and an array of 5-star resorts and golf courses. Upon arrival in Hoi An, proceed for a comfort stop at Vy's Market Restaurant. Afterward, meet the restaurant team, then join the assistant chef for a walk to Hoi An's colourful and bustling local market. Learn about different types of fresh noodles, rice, and different grains, selecting and buying fresh fish, and various spices and fresh herbs, along with their use in recipes and for medicinal purposes. In addition, see and taste a selection of exotic fruits. Leaving the market, embark your boat for the return-ride to Vy's Market Restaurant.

Visit the many live food counters of this ground-breaking new interactive dining venue in Vietnam. Here, Ms. Vy's recreates the atmosphere and ambience of the local markets whilst growing up and working in her parents' restaurant as a child. With a central courtyard surrounded by individual food stalls, see how traditional dishes are prepared and cooked. From grilling rice crackers and roasting peanuts to making fresh 'bun' and 'cao lau' noodles, Vy's Market offers you a unique culinary experience. Your tour of the individual stalls also forms part of her world-renowned cooking classes. After touring the stalls, you simply select from the tablet-based photo menu, and your dishes are prepared and served to order.
Interactive Cooking Class, Lunch, Complimentary Gifts
Next, Chef Vy greets your arrival and begins your cooking class. Learn about choosing ingredients, cutting techniques, and Vietnamese culture, food history, philosophy, nutrition, and herbal remedies. Chef Vy then demonstrates each dish before helping you prepare them yourselves. Included are friend wontons with crabmeat, papaya salad with beef, stuffed squid with pork, and banana flambe with coconut cream and sesame. Afterward, enjoy a lunch consisting of the dishes you have helped to prepare, and receive a Vietnamese cooking utensil and copy of The Market Restaurant & Cooking School recipe booklet to take home. Program tour involves a moderate amount of walking and standing for approximately 0.6 miles (about one kilometre), at times over uneven and natural surfaces, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and embark/disembark the boat, and at Vy's Market Restaurant. This tour is not suitable for guests with food allergies, guests prone to motion sickness, guests with limited mobility, and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water, and US Dollars, local currency, and/or credit cards for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 12 years old to participate on this tour. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. As in any large city, please take precautions to protect your belongings. Expect crowds and traffic at the sites visited. The driving distance between the pier and sites visited is approximately 1.75 hours in each direction. The tour timings and sequence may vary.
