Excursion Abu dhabi highlights tour at Abu Dhabi
Cruise line: SilverseaDifficulty:
Discover the scenic beauty and landmarks of Abu Dhabi during this picturesque, half-day sightseeing tour.
Grand Mosque
Depart the pier for the approximately 30-minute drive to the Grand Mosque. The majestic Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Mosque is probably the most imposing religious and national landmark in Abu Dhabi to date. It is also arguably one of the most important architectural treasures of contemporary UAE society - and one of the most beautiful in the world - initiated no less by the late president HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who is fondly thought of as the father of UAE.
Corniche and City Drive
Next, drive along the spectacular Corniche and around the city of Abu Dhabi, known as the 'Manhattan of the Gulf' due to its profusion of ultra-modern skyscrapers, gleaming white mosques and elegant high-rise apartments. After a photo stop at the tip of the breakwater for a superb view of the city's magnificent skyline, proceed to Yas Island.
Yas Island and Heritage Village
Your drive continues past Yas Island, a 9.75 square-mile (25 square-km) island strategically located between the coast and city of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with a range of world-class hotels, theme parks, golf courses, mega malls, apartments and villas, and much more. Apart from this, Yas Island hosts the venue for the F1 circuit of Abu Dhabi.
From here, proceed to the Heritage Village, which houses a small museum and depicts the daily activities of the Arab community prior to the discovery of oil before returning to the pier.
